Storage Size/Dimensions: Minimum 150 square feet per caskets, or a 12ft x 12ft area. Height clearance: 10 feet. Each caskets requires a minimum of 4ft x 4ft dedicated space.
Storage Conditions: Dry storage is essential. The area must be well-ventilated to prevent stagnant air. The floor should be level and constructed of a durable, easy-to-clean material like concrete or epoxy. Avoid direct sunlight exposure.
Special Handling: Caskets are fragile and delicate items. All caskets must be individually wrapped in protective padding, such as bubble wrap or foam, to prevent damage during handling and storage. Sharp edges or protrusions on the caskets should be covered with protective material.
Stacking/Shelving: Caskets can be stored on pallets (48" x 36" pallets recommended) for efficient space utilization. Shelving units with adjustable height racks are permissible, but shelves must be sturdy enough to support the weight of multiple caskets. Max stacking height: 5 feet.
Access Requirements: A loading dock with a minimum width of 12 feet and a door opening of at least 10 feet is required for easy access. A clear aisle space of 8 feet is needed for forklift maneuverability. A minimum of 3 feet of clearance space around each caskets is necessary for safe handling.
