Storage Size/Dimensions: Minimum 200 square feet, 20ft x 10ft area, Height clearance: 12 feet. A dedicated aisle of 8 feet width is required for movement.
Storage Conditions: Dry storage is essential. The area must be well-ventilated to prevent dust accumulation. Storage should be on a level concrete floor. Avoid direct sunlight exposure.
Special Handling: Unworked stones are considered fragile and should be individually wrapped with protective padding (cardboard, bubble wrap) prior to storage. Larger stones require bracing to prevent movement during handling. Consider using wooden shims under larger pieces to prevent scratching of the floor.
Stacking/Shelving: Pallet storage is recommended. Pallets should be 48” x 40” in size. Shelving is not recommended due to the weight and potential for instability. Stacking should be limited to a maximum of 3 pallets high.
Access Requirements: Loading dock with a 12ft x 10ft bay door is required. Door width must be at least 10 feet. A clearance of 10 feet is needed at the loading dock for truck maneuvering. Forklift access is necessary for handling. A minimum aisle width of 8 feet is needed for forklift operation.
