Storage Size/Dimensions: Minimum 150 square feet or a 12ft x 12ft area. Height clearance: 8 feet to accommodate stacking.
Storage Conditions: The area must be dry and well-ventilated. Dust and debris should be minimized. Avoid direct sunlight exposure.
Special Handling: Optical flats are fragile. Each flat requires a minimum of 4 inches of padding on all surfaces (top, bottom, and sides). Utilize foam padding, bubble wrap, or cardboard. Clearly label each item with “FRAGILE – OPTICAL FLATS” in large, visible lettering.
Stacking/Shelving: Items can be stacked to a maximum height of 5 feet. Utilize adjustable shelving units with 36” shelf depth. Pallet storage is permissible, but each pallet should be covered with a protective layer (tarpaulin or plastic sheeting) to prevent scratching.
Access Requirements: A standard 10ft x 12ft loading dock is required for truck access. The dock door should be at least 10ft wide with a clear opening of 10ft. A minimum of 10ft of clearance space is needed around the storage area for forklift maneuverability. Ensure the floor is level and stable to prevent shifting during handling.
