Storage Size/Dimensions: Minimum 200 square feet, or a 15ft x 13ft area. Height clearance: 12 feet. This allows for multiple pallets of material.
Storage Conditions: Dry storage is essential. The area should be well-ventilated to prevent dust accumulation. Avoid direct sunlight exposure. Storage should be on a level concrete floor.
Special Handling: Solid surface countertops are inherently fragile. Each piece requires substantial padding – at least 2 inches of foam or bubble wrap – during storage and handling. Pieces should be secured with straps or shrink wrap to prevent movement.
Stacking/Shelving: Pallet storage is recommended, utilizing standard 48” high pallets. Shelving units with adjustable shelves, capable of supporting at least 500 lbs per shelf, could be used to maximize vertical space. Stacking height should not exceed 4 pallets.
Access Requirements: A standard 12ft x 12ft loading dock is required for truck access. Dock door width should be a minimum of 10 feet. A clearance of 10 feet on either side of the loading dock is needed for maneuvering trucks. Forklift access is necessary for moving pallets.
