Storage Size/Dimensions: Minimum 200 square feet, with an area of 15 feet x 13.3 feet. Height clearance: 12 feet. Each cylinder should have a dedicated space of at least 4 feet x 3 feet.
Storage Conditions: Dry storage in a well-ventilated area is essential. The storage space should be free of direct sunlight and away from sources of ignition. Surfaces should be non-reactive materials like stainless steel or coated concrete.
Special Handling: All rare gases must be stored in their original cylinders. Each cylinder should be individually padded with foam or bubble wrap to prevent damage during handling. Personnel handling the cylinders must wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including gloves and eye protection.
Stacking/Shelving: Cylinders can be stored on a pallet with a 48” x 48” support. Shelving is not recommended due to the potential for cylinder instability. A maximum of two cylinders should be stacked directly on top of each other.
Access Requirements: A loading dock with a minimum width of 12 feet is required for delivery access. The warehouse door should be a minimum of 10 feet wide for easy cylinder movement. A clearance space of 6 feet around each storage area is necessary for safe handling and access.
