Storage Size/Dimensions: Minimum 200 square feet, 15ft x 13ft area, Height clearance: 12 feet. A dedicated storage room of at least 16ft x 14ft is recommended for optimal handling.
Storage Conditions: Dry storage is essential. The area must be free from dust, dirt, and other contaminants. Adequate ventilation is critical to prevent the accumulation of any airborne particles. The floor should be level and stable.
Special Handling: Germanium is a relatively brittle material. Each block should be individually wrapped in protective foam padding, at least 2 inches thick, to prevent damage during handling. Blocks should be moved with slow, deliberate movements.
Stacking/Shelving: Pallet storage is the recommended method. Each pallet should be constructed of wood and be 48” x 40”. Shelving is not generally advised due to the material's fragility. Maximum stacking height should be limited to two pallets.
Access Requirements: A loading dock with a 12ft x 10ft bay door is required. The door width needs to be a minimum of 10ft to accommodate forklift access. A clear aisle space of 8ft x 8ft is needed for maneuvering equipment. Forklift operation is necessary for moving the blocks.
