Storage Size/Dimensions: Minimum 150 square feet, with a floor area of 12ft x 12ft. Height clearance: 8 feet is required to accommodate standard-sized potted pothos plants. We need an additional 10 square feet for maneuvering space.
Storage Conditions: The storage area must be dry and well-ventilated. Adequate airflow is crucial to prevent excessive moisture buildup around the plants. The floor should be level and constructed of a durable, easy-to-clean material like concrete or epoxy.
Special Handling: Pothos plants are considered delicate. Each plant should be individually wrapped in protective padding, such as bubble wrap or packing paper, to prevent damage during handling and storage. Boxes should be sturdy and appropriately sized to hold the pots securely.
Stacking/Shelving: Pallet storage is recommended, utilizing 48” high pallets. Shelving units with adjustable shelves are an alternative, ensuring shelves are no more than 48” apart to accommodate pot sizes. Stackable containers are suitable for smaller plants.
Access Requirements: A standard 12ft wide loading dock is required for easy access. The warehouse door should be at least 9ft wide to facilitate movement of pallets and personnel. A minimum clearance of 8ft is needed around each pallet for forklift operation.
