Storage Size/Dimensions: Minimum 200 sq ft, 20ft x 10ft area, Height clearance: 10 feet. A secondary storage area of 100 sq ft (10ft x 10ft) is recommended for overflow.
Storage Conditions: Dry storage is essential. The area must be well-ventilated to prevent buildup of vapors. Flooring should be impervious and easily cleanable, such as concrete or epoxy. Dust control is paramount.
Special Handling: All acid containers must be individually padded with substantial foam or cardboard to prevent damage during handling and storage. Containers should be clearly labeled with hazard warnings and chemical names. Personnel handling the acid should wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including gloves, eye protection, and chemical-resistant aprons.
Stacking/Shelving: Items should be stored on pallets to facilitate movement and prevent direct contact with the floor. Shelving units with a minimum height of 6 feet are recommended for efficient space utilization. Pallet height should not exceed 5 feet.
Access Requirements: A standard 12ft wide loading dock is required for truck access. The dock door should be at least 10ft wide with a clear opening of 8ft. A minimum of 10ft of clearance space is needed alongside the loading dock for maneuvering equipment.
