Storage Size/Dimensions: Minimum 200 square feet, 20ft x 10ft area, Height clearance: 9 feet. A dedicated aisle of 5 feet width is required alongside the storage area.
Storage Conditions: Dry storage is essential. The area must be well-ventilated to prevent dust accumulation. Surfaces should be level and free from debris. Avoid direct sunlight exposure.
Special Handling: Water meters are considered fragile items. Each meter should be individually wrapped in protective bubble wrap or foam padding. Palletizing is recommended for bulk storage. Ensure all items are secured to prevent shifting during handling.
Stacking/Shelving: Shelving units with adjustable shelves are recommended. Shelves should be spaced no more than 24 inches apart to accommodate various meter sizes. Pallet storage (48" x 36" pallets) is also suitable, with a maximum pallet height of 5 feet.
Access Requirements: A standard 12ft x 12ft loading dock is required for truck access. The receiving dock door should be a minimum of 10 feet wide with a clearance of 10 feet. Forklift access is necessary for moving pallets and shelving units. A minimum of 8 feet of clearance space is needed around shelving units for forklift operation.
