Safe Storage. Maximize Equipment. Reduce Downtime.
Storing material handling equipment within a well-organized warehouse storage facility offers significant advantages for businesses relying on efficient operations. Strategic placement and dedicated racking systems are crucial for maximizing space utilization and streamlining workflow. Pallet racking, specifically designed for robust equipment like forklifts, pallet jacks, and conveyors, provides a secure and accessible storage solution. Utilizing vertical space effectively minimizes floor space demands, freeing up valuable areas for other activities. Proper segregation based on equipment type and usage frequency is paramount for ease of retrieval and prevents damage. Warehouse storage provides a protected environment, shielding equipment from direct sunlight, rain, and potential impact from moving loads. This protected environment significantly extends the lifespan of your investment and reduces the need for frequent repairs. Furthermore, warehouse storage's inherent organization and accessibility contribute directly to improved operational efficiency, faster order fulfillment, and ultimately, enhanced productivity. The structured environment of a warehouse is ideally suited for storing durable, heavy-duty equipment requiring secure and readily available access.
Storage Size/Dimensions: Minimum 200 sq ft, 20ft x 10ft area, Height clearance: 12 feet. A dedicated area of at least 10ft x 12ft is recommended for each piece of equipment.
Storage Conditions: Dry storage, well-ventilated area. The space should be free from excessive dust and debris. Avoid storing equipment directly under eaves to allow for adequate airflow.
Special Handling: All equipment should be stored with adequate padding – foam, blankets, or cardboard – to prevent scratches and damage during handling. Fragile components require extra protection. Consider using straps or tie-downs to secure equipment during storage.
Stacking/Shelving: Pallet storage is ideal, utilizing 48” high pallets. Adjustable shelving units with a maximum height of 8 feet are recommended for smaller equipment. Ensure shelving is robust and capable of supporting the weight of stacked items.
Access Requirements: Loading dock with a minimum 12ft wide access lane. A standard 10ft wide access door is required. A minimum clearance of 8 feet on all sides of each piece of equipment is needed for forklift operation. Ensure the floor is level and capable of supporting heavy equipment. A secondary access door, 6ft wide, is beneficial for smaller equipment.
