Secure Composite Countertop Storage: Protect & Preserve.
Storing composite countertops within a robust warehouse environment offers several key advantages for both manufacturers and distributors. Composite materials, known for their durability and resistance to staining and scratching, are exceptionally well-suited for standard warehouse storage. Utilizing strategically placed shelving and racking systems maximizes space and allows for efficient product flow. Because of the inherent strength and stability of composite countertops, they can withstand the typical handling and movement found within a warehouse setting. Proper stacking techniques, considering the dimensions and weight of each piece, are crucial for safe and organized storage. Warehouses provide a secure and protected environment, shielding the countertops from direct sunlight and potential weather exposure. The inherent strength of these surfaces allows for stacking and efficient palletization. This method provides a cost-effective solution for long-term storage, offering a readily available supply for rapid order fulfillment. Furthermore, warehouse storage ensures products remain readily accessible, streamlining the supply chain and supporting consistent production schedules. Careful consideration of product placement and protection from physical contact during handling will further enhance the longevity of your composite countertops.
Storage Size/Dimensions: Minimum 200 square feet, or an area of 12ft x 16ft. Height clearance: 12 feet. Allow for 4ft of aisle space between storage locations.
Storage Conditions: Dry storage is required. The area must be well-ventilated to prevent moisture buildup. Surfaces should be clean and free of debris. Avoid direct sunlight exposure.
Special Handling: Composite countertops are heavy and fragile. Each countertop must be individually wrapped with protective padding, including corner protectors and bubble wrap. Lifting equipment (dollies or pallet jacks) is essential. Personnel must be trained in proper handling techniques.
Stacking/Shelving: Countertops can be stored on pallets (48" x 40" pallets recommended). Shelving units with adjustable height are advisable. Stacking height should not exceed 4 units, and each stack must be secured. Pallet dimensions should be clearly marked.
Access Requirements: A loading dock with a 12ft wide bay door is required. A minimum clearance of 10ft within the loading dock is needed for maneuvering pallet jacks and forklifts. Ensure adequate overhead clearance within the loading dock for equipment operation. A 8ft wide access aisle is needed for safe movement.
