Secure Brick Tile Storage: Protect & Preserve Your Investment
Storing brick tile in a warehouse environment offers a robust and cost-effective solution for businesses managing significant quantities. Warehousing provides exceptional protection from physical damage, a key concern when handling the inherently fragile nature of brick tile. Utilizing strategically planned racking systems – including pallet racking and shelving – allows for efficient space utilization and optimal product stacking, maximizing storage capacity. Careful consideration of stacking height is paramount to prevent crushing and breakage. Utilizing appropriate materials for pallet construction, such as wood or plastic, is vital. Regular inventory checks and meticulous organization are essential for quick retrieval and minimizing handling. Warehouse facilities typically offer secure access and robust security measures, reducing the risk of theft or damage. Furthermore, the inherent structural stability of a warehouse building contributes to a safe and stable environment for your valuable inventory. Choosing a warehouse with experienced staff and established logistics processes ensures a streamlined and reliable storage solution, providing long-term durability and protection for your brick tile stock.
Storage Size/Dimensions: Minimum 150 square feet or a 10ft x 15ft area. Height clearance: 12 feet is recommended to allow for stacking.
Storage Conditions: Dry storage is essential. The area should be well-ventilated to prevent moisture buildup. Protect the tiles from direct sunlight to avoid fading. Ensure the floor is level and clean to prevent damage.
Special Handling: Brick tiles are fragile. Each tile should be individually wrapped in protective padding, such as bubble wrap or cardboard. Stacking should be done carefully to avoid crushing. Consider using corner protectors on stacked pallets.
Stacking/Shelving: Pallet storage is ideal, utilizing 48” high pallets. Alternatively, shelving units with adjustable shelves are suitable. Shelves should be spaced no more than 36” apart to accommodate tile sizes. Stacking should be limited to no more than three levels.
Access Requirements: A standard 12ft x 10ft loading dock is required. The dock door should be at least 10ft wide with a clear opening of 10ft. A minimum of 8ft of clearance space is needed around the loading dock for forklift operation. Ensure adequate aisle space for movement.
