Storage Size/Dimensions: Minimum 150 square feet or a 10ft x 15ft area. Height clearance: 8 feet. This allows for approximately 500 units of smoke alarms.
Storage Conditions: The storage area must be dry and well-ventilated. Avoid direct sunlight exposure. The floor should be level and capable of supporting the weight of the stored items. Dust and debris should be regularly removed.
Special Handling: Smoke alarms are considered fragile items. Each unit should be individually wrapped in protective padding (bubble wrap or similar) to prevent damage during handling and storage. Boxes should be securely sealed.
Stacking/Shelving: Items can be stored on standard shelving units with adjustable shelves. Max stacking height should be limited to 48 inches. Pallet storage is acceptable, but pallets should be stacked no more than two high.
Access Requirements: The storage area requires a standard loading dock with a 12ft x 12ft access area. The loading dock door should be at least 10ft wide with a clear opening of 9ft. A minimum of 6ft of clearance space is needed alongside the shelving for forklift access. Ensure adequate aisle space for equipment movement.
