Storage Size/Dimensions: Minimum 200 square feet, ideally 20ft x 10ft, with a height clearance of 9 feet. A dedicated area of 12ft x 8ft is recommended for overflow.
Storage Conditions: The storage area must be dry and well-ventilated. The floor should be level and clean to prevent damage. Dust accumulation should be minimized through regular cleaning.
Special Handling: Color samples are considered fragile. Each sample should be individually wrapped in acid-free tissue paper and placed in a protective sleeve. Palletizing is discouraged; individual sleeve storage is preferred. Padding around each sleeve is essential.
Stacking/Shelving: Samples can be stored on sturdy shelving units with adjustable shelves to accommodate varying sample sizes. Shelves should be no more than 48 inches deep. Stacking is permissible, but limited to a maximum of two layers to prevent pressure on lower samples.
Access Requirements: A standard 12ft wide loading dock is required for delivery trucks. The warehouse door should be at least 8ft wide for easy access. A minimum clearance of 3 feet around shelving units is necessary for forklift operation and sample retrieval. A secondary access door 6ft wide is also advised.
