Storage Size/Dimensions: Minimum 300 square feet, ideally 20ft x 15ft, with a height clearance of 12 feet. Allow for a 5ft access aisle around each storage area.
Storage Conditions: Dry storage is required. The area must be well-ventilated to prevent dust accumulation and maintain air quality. Avoid direct sunlight exposure.
Special Handling: Track components are generally robust, but many are considered fragile. All items require protective padding, including bubble wrap and sturdy cardboard, especially for smaller components. Fragile labels should be clearly affixed to all boxes.
Stacking/Shelving: Utilize pallet racking for bulk storage (48” high). Shelving units with adjustable shelves (36” high) are recommended for smaller parts. Stackable bins (24” x 18” x 12”) can be used for organization.
Access Requirements: A standard 12ft x 10ft loading dock is needed. The primary warehouse door should be a minimum of 10ft wide for easy access. A 5ft clearance space is required around the loading dock for maneuvering equipment. Forklift access is essential.
