Storage Size/Dimensions: Minimum 200 square feet, 15ft x 13ft area, Height clearance: 9 feet. A dedicated aisle space of 5 feet wide is required.
Storage Conditions: Dry storage is essential. The area must be well-ventilated to prevent mildew or mold growth. The floor should be level and constructed of a durable, easy-to-clean material. Avoid direct sunlight exposure.
Special Handling: Billet storage necessitates careful handling. Each billet should be individually padded with sufficient protective material (foam or cardboard) to prevent scratching or bruising during movement. Larger billets may require additional bracing to maintain stability.
Stacking/Shelving: Billet storage will primarily utilize pallet storage. Pallets should be 48” x 40” and arranged to allow for easy access. Shelving is not recommended due to the weight and dimensions of the billets. Stacking is limited to a maximum of two pallets high.
Access Requirements: Loading dock: 12ft wide x 16ft long. Warehouse door width: 10 feet. A clearance of 8 feet is needed in front of the loading dock for truck maneuvering. Forklift access is required for handling pallets.
