Storage Size/Dimensions: Minimum 150 square feet, or a 10ft x 15ft rectangular area. Height clearance: 9 feet to accommodate standard pallet racking.
Storage Conditions: This space requires dry storage with good ventilation. Items should be stored on pallets to facilitate air circulation and minimize moisture exposure. Avoid storing items directly on the floor.
Special Handling: Fragile items, such as glassware or ceramics, require thorough padding with bubble wrap or foam packaging. Palletized goods should be secured with straps to prevent shifting during handling. Boxes should be labeled clearly with “Fragile” and “Handle with Care.”
Stacking/Shelving: Pallet storage is the primary method. Adjustable shelving units, with a maximum height of 7 feet, can be used to store smaller items and organize stock. Stacking pallets to a maximum height of 48 inches is permitted, ensuring stability.
Access Requirements: A loading dock with a 12ft x 12ft area is required for truck access. The main access door should be a minimum of 10 feet wide with a clear opening of 9 feet. A minimum of 8 feet of clearance space is needed around the loading dock to allow for safe truck maneuvering. Pallet dimensions should not exceed 48” x 40”.
