Storage Size/Dimensions: Minimum 300 sq ft of floor space, ideally 20ft x 15ft, with a height clearance of at least 12 feet. A dedicated area of 10ft x 10ft is recommended for individual organ storage.
Storage Conditions: Dry storage is required. The area must be well-ventilated to prevent stagnation. Surfaces should be smooth and easily cleanable. Storage areas should be kept free from dust and debris.
Special Handling: Organs are extremely delicate and fragile. Each item requires individual, custom-fitted padding using high-density foam and protective wrapping. Items must be handled with utmost care, minimizing movement and pressure. Separate, clearly marked containers are essential.
Stacking/Shelving: Items can be stored on sturdy, adjustable shelving units with a minimum height of 8 feet. Pallet storage is permitted, but pallets must be secured to prevent movement. Shelving units should be designed to support significant weight.
Access Requirements: A standard 12ft wide loading dock is necessary for delivery trucks. The warehouse door should be at least 10ft wide for easy access. A minimum clearance of 8ft around each storage area is required for equipment operation. A dedicated personnel access door of 6ft width is needed.
