Storage Size/Dimensions: Minimum 200 sq ft (20ft x 10ft area) with a height clearance of 12 feet. A dedicated area of 15ft x 12ft is recommended for larger rolls.
Storage Conditions: Dry storage in a well-ventilated area is essential. The storage space should be protected from direct sunlight and rain. Maintain a consistent airflow to prevent moisture buildup.
Special Handling: Flooring rolls are considered fragile. Each roll requires a minimum of 4 inches of padding on all sides. Palletize rolls to minimize direct contact with the floor. Secure rolls with straps or banding.
Stacking/Shelving: Pallet storage is the primary method. Pallets should be 48” high. Utilize standard pallet sizes (48” x 40”). Consider installing adjustable shelving units to maximize vertical space, allowing for stacking of smaller items.
Access Requirements: Loading dock needs a minimum width of 12 feet for truck access. Door width should be at least 10 feet. A clearance space of 10 feet on either side of the loading dock is required for forklift maneuvering. Ensure adequate aisle space of 8 feet for easy movement.
