Storage Size/Dimensions: Minimum 200 square feet, or a 15ft x 13ft area. Height clearance: 12 feet. This allows for approximately 50 standard-sized stone packages.
Storage Conditions: Dry storage is required. The area must be well-ventilated to prevent dust accumulation. Floor surfaces should be level and capable of supporting the weight of stacked stones. Avoid direct sunlight exposure.
Special Handling: Stones are considered fragile and should be handled with care. Each stone should be wrapped in protective padding (cardboard or bubble wrap) to prevent scratches and damage during storage. Palletize stones to minimize direct contact with the floor.
Stacking/Shelving: Pallet storage is recommended. Utilize 48" high pallets to maximize vertical space. Shelving units with adjustable racking are acceptable, but must be rated for at least 500 lbs per level. Stacking height should not exceed 3 pallets to maintain stability.
Access Requirements: A loading dock with a 12ft wide x 10ft deep area is needed for truck access. The warehouse door should be a minimum of 9ft wide for easy movement of pallets and personnel. A clear aisle space of 8 feet should be maintained alongside the storage area.
