Storage Size/Dimensions: Minimum 200 square feet, with an area of 10ft x 20ft. Height clearance: 12 feet. A secondary staging area of 50 sq ft (5ft x 10ft) is recommended.
Storage Conditions: The space must be dry and well-ventilated. Dust and debris should be minimized. Adequate lighting is essential. Regular inspections for pests and damage are required.
Special Handling: Ballast items are generally robust, but all items should be protected with appropriate padding – bubble wrap and cardboard are recommended – especially for items prone to abrasion. Heavy items require forklift assistance.
Stacking/Shelving: Pallet storage is ideal, utilizing standard 48” high pallets. Shelving units with adjustable shelves can be used for smaller items, maximizing vertical space. A maximum stacking height of 8 feet is advised for pallet storage.
Access Requirements: A standard 12ft wide loading dock is required. Door width: 10ft. A minimum clearance of 8ft at the dock is necessary for forklift operation. Adequate aisle space of 10ft between rows is needed for maneuverability. Forklift access is critical for efficient loading and unloading.
