Storage Conditions: The area must be dry and well-ventilated. Avoid direct sunlight exposure to prevent potential degradation of the battery materials. Storage should be on a level, stable floor.
Special Handling: Spare batteries are considered fragile items. Each battery pack should be individually wrapped in protective foam or bubble wrap to prevent damage during handling. Palletized shipments require additional bracing to maintain stability.
Stacking/Shelving: Battery packs can be stored on a narrow, adjustable shelving system with a maximum shelf height of 6 feet. Shelves should be spaced no more than 18 inches apart to accommodate various pack sizes. Pallet storage is an option, utilizing standard 48”x36” pallets.
Access Requirements: A single loading dock door, minimum 12 feet wide and 8 feet high, is required for receiving and shipping. A clear aisle space of 8 feet should be maintained adjacent to the storage area for forklift access. The door should have sufficient clearance of 3 feet to allow for easy movement.
