Storage Size/Dimensions: Minimum 150 square feet, 12ft x 12ft area, Height clearance: 9 feet. A dedicated storage aisle of 3 feet wide should be included.
Storage Conditions: The storage area must be dry and well-ventilated. Regular inspection for debris and pests is required. The floor should be level and clean to prevent damage. Avoid direct sunlight exposure.
Special Handling: Roses are delicate and susceptible to bruising. Each rose should be individually wrapped in acid-free tissue paper and then cushioned with bubble wrap. Pallet storage is recommended, with individual rose boxes resting on a 48” x 48” pallet.
Stacking/Shelving: Boxes of roses should be stacked no more than 3 boxes high. Utilizing sturdy, adjustable shelving units with 48” shelves is advised. Pallet storage is encouraged to minimize handling.
Access Requirements: Loading dock should be 10ft wide and 14ft long. A minimum door width of 8 feet is needed for easy access. A clearance space of 6 feet behind the loading dock is required for forklift maneuverability. Ensure adequate lighting within the storage area.
