How much warehouse space is needed to house the $2.5 billion lottery money?

How much space does a billion dollars need?

Are you the winner of the latest Powerball lottery that was approximately $2.5 billion dollars?

That’s $2,500,000,000.00 by the way.

Even though the taxman would greedily take his immediate cut, let’s say that for a moment, you had your own equally greedy paws on the actual paper (well, okay, linen) money.

As in, 2.5 billion bills.

And because someone out there has a cruel sense of humor, they actually sent it to you in George Washington one-dollar bills.

How much Cubework warehouse space will you need to store your cash? (Mind you, we do NOT recommend you store cash anywhere except a bank vault!)

Luckily, we could, strictly theoretically, store your boxes of bills for you!

US bills are 2.61 inches wide and 6.14 inches long; they are .0043 inches thick. Thats .06890922 in^3. One billion of them makes 68,909,202 in^3 or a cube roughly 410 inches (more than 34 feet) on a side.

So you’d need two and half cubes of this size to store all that cash. In short, you’d need approximately 2,890 square feet to store your cubes o’ cash.

And while we do not recommend or suggest you store cash at our facilities, even though they are clean, secure, and have walls, we certainly would be happy to store the many cool items you’ll be getting after you cash in!

So whether you are a lottery winner or not, Cubework is here to help you with your storage and ecommerce inventory needs, all with our famous no hassle, flexible, affordable model. Give us a call at 909-991-6669 and we will be happy to chat with you…and if you have an unused Lamborghini to spare, we’d be happy to accept!
